Step-by-Step Umrah Guide

1. Enter the State of Ihram

Before crossing the Miqat, pilgrims enter the sacred state of Ihram.

Men wear two white unstitched cloths, while women wear modest Islamic clothing. Make your intention (Niyyah) for Umrah and begin reciting the Talbiyah.

Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka La Sharika Laka Labbayk. Innal Hamda Wan Ni’mata Laka Wal Mulk, La Sharika Lak.

Continue reciting the Talbiyah until reaching Masjid al-Haram.

2. Perform Tawaf

Upon entering Masjid al-Haram, proceed towards the Holy Kaaba.

Perform seven anti-clockwise circles around the Kaaba while remembering Allah, making dua, and reciting the Qur’an.

After completing Tawaf, pray two Rak’ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim if possible. Drink Zamzam water and make sincere dua.

3. Perform Sa’i

Walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah.

The journey begins at Safa and ends at Marwah while remembering Allah and reflecting on the story of Hajar (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS).

4. Shaving or Trimming the Hair

The final step of Umrah is removing the hair.

• Men: Shave the head completely or trim the hair evenly.
• Women: Trim a small portion from the ends of their hair.

After this, your Umrah is complete and the restrictions of Ihram come to an end.
